Camp focus

The camp design is to combine experiences of outdoor challenges and how to overcome them by smooth intercultural collaboration in a group of international participants from various countries. The challenge of living outdoor is no challenge when we cooperate. Together we will ride canoes, build our own tent camp civilization every day, and enjoy in the wilderness. The camp is designed to become a team of smoothly cooperating members, to tackle any weather conditions easily, and become a multi-lingual leadership personality.

For these learnings, we choose Mother Nature as our teacher. You should join if you are curious to practice your intercultural team work skills, become personally more capable with a strong set on social- and leadership skills, on other words: become a cosmopolitan. For these learnings, we choose Mother Nature as our natural teacher. And an international environment by gathering a total of 52 heterogeneous mixed international participants (focus: whole world).

This camp leads us via Germany to the wilderness of the French River Loire (upper part). This camp is very special. From off-road vehicles, canoes, outdoor equipment such as tents and tools, to mobile kitchen deluxe, everything is created, maintained and handled by the Waldorf students of the Rudolf Steiner School Bochum, one of the oldest Waldorf Schools in Germany, themselves during the camp. The expedition takes us to the beautiful river Loire, where we playfully acquire the skills to have fun outdoors. Becoming one team, we decide together where to rest, where to camp, and how far the journey takes us every day. You will become fitter, both physically and socially. You will be able to creatively find answers to challenges in life and enjoy the beauty of independent outdoor life.
Due to the intensive experience, the wilderness exploration, nature, and specific characteristics of World Waldorf Children’s Camp (art and craft activities every day) parents should be prepared that children might dirty their clothes, feet and hands during the day. Counsellors are always involved into these activities and safeguard that children stay healthy and experience the joy that nature and community brings to them. Cellphones are collected by the counselors on the first day and handed out back to the children on the last day. Photos, videos and documentation will be accomplished by professionals, not from the participants, during the camp.
